​Thank you so much for those who gave money for medical.
We were able to take Scovia's daughter to the hospital for a checkup yesterday. They found severe malaria, and we were told that with that can come the lump. She is being treated for malaria. Mama is sick today so she will go be tested and treated.
Mary is still very weak. She has not been able to eat and is losing weight again. She is getting injections and will go back to finish the last injection and get a checkup. We gave her some food today since she used all her money for the trip to the hospital for the surgery that didn't happen. We're praying God will provide enough money for her to have her surgery so she can get better.
Please continue to pray for all of our families that are sick. Pray God will keep those well who are well, and pray for protection from Covid that is increasing in Uganda. Thank you!

​Our goal is self-sustainment and not dependence. Unfortunately for some of these ladies it's two steps forward and four steps back. Would you please consider helping us with some medical expenses. ​I've been told by several here in Uganda that it can take several years to find your place and true calling in Africa. This past trip I feel like I have clarity on what God wants us to do over there and so we filed paperwork to become an NGO in Uganda.
The purpose of this post is for prayer, but I want to share a few thoughts so you'll understand the significance of the need for your prayers.
The photos posted here are some of the ladies we are ministering to at this time. The goal and the purpose of empowerment is to create sustainability and not dependency for them. They are each uniquely created in the image of God and they have all the resources within themselves and their community to achieve their full purpose. In order for them to truly succeed this requires not only addressing the issue of poverty but the entire worldview behind it.
As I've been praying and meditating on what this will look like as we begin a new work in Uganda I've come across some great literature that lines up with my vision of creating an organization birthed from a Biblical world view that involves four key components. These line up with my understanding of how Jesus would want us to serve "the least of these” and the need for prayer.
"To understand the relationship between world view and development, one needs to examine the example of Jesus’ own development in Luke 2:52: “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favour with God and men.” Jesus’ development involved growth in the intellectual or mental aspect (wisdom), in the physical aspect (stature), in the spiritual aspect (in favour with God), and in the social aspect (favour with men). These four core areas are the core of any meaningful development effort and shape the process and strategies we use as key players in the community development process, shape dialogues and activities around the approaches to be taken, determine the indicators for measuring success from the community’s perspective, as well as shape how those activities lead communities to transformation." ~World Vision
The article mentioned above lines up with core values of TTWWK, to empower and strengthen families spiritually, physically and emotionally. It is discipling the whole person.
Here is my prayer as I prepare to return to Uganda, taken also from the literature I'm reading.
Please pray for spiritual preparedness on my part and on the part of those in our organization. Pray that we will be moving towards achieving sustainable change and significantly improving the social and spiritual well-being of children and their families. Pray he will guide every single step and we will hear his voice say “this is the way. Walk in it.”
God hears and answers. We just need to ask.
