the cost to follow jesus

10/20/2022

Wow, such a great Bible study today. I’ve learned something so important recently. Often people don’t stand up for truth because they actually can lose their life so they remain silent. Fear of death for standing up can have a heavy price here.
Today we talked about our foundation (culture). Even though it may be so rooted in tradition and culture, to not stand up for truth often causes even more pain and robs them of God’s blessings and God’s favor.
Christ calls us to stand up for truth, even if it costs our life. There’s been a very painful real life example of that here recently.
They were challenged to consider this week the cost of following Jesus and then make a commitment one way or another. We can’t sit on the fence. Tradition can be so deep and actually a stronghold. But to not move forward in Christ is to remain in poverty, spiritual poverty being the worst.
We will begin studying what it means to take up our cross and follow Jesus!!!
“Five times I received at the hands of the Jews the forty lashes less one. Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea; on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers dangers from my own people, danger from Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brothers; in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure. And, apart from other things, there is the daily pressure on me of my anxiety for all the churches.”
2 Cor 11:21-28
How is your spiritual condition today?

reminders from worship and study

Always my favorite part of the day and week; worship and Bible study. We just finished Mark and will be starting Ruth.
Our worship today was a wonderful reminder that we can’t go back to old habits or wounds and we don’t know what tomorrow will bring. But we stand on the promise that God is here in the middle of our joy… and pain. He will meet us where we are. Not for one minute are we forsaken. Thru the life, death and resurrection of Jesus he is always with us!!! He was forsaken so we never would be. Hallelujah for his word.

First Event in our beautiful venue

Wow, today was such a full day, in work and in joy. We had our staff worship and Bible Study, then our ladies program with worship, Bible study and encouragement, and then our first event in our beautiful venue. It was friends so we charged only enough to buy a water jug for washing hands, but hopefully the event will generate some more business.
A gospel singer was there and is interested in shooting a video here. Please pray God would open doors for our income generating projects. It definitely is not easy to market here but we know God is in charge and everything is in his timing
You can see our beautiful event specialists, AKA Suzan and Sirina, serving the guests. The kids had so much fun as well.

These two beautiful ladies are our bridal specialists for our bridal shop. Yesterday we rented 18 gowns for a mass wedding in December. We rented for a huge discount but our ladies will still get paid for washing, ironing and God will continue to meet our needs.
We were also invited to a grand opening of a restaurant today. The couple also wants to do event planning so we are working together to create a flyer. We have gowns, venue and guest rooms and they have catering, cakes, salon and other things for events. Please pray God will open doors for this.
Not only did we have a great time but learned a lot about marketing in Uganda. I hope you enjoy the photos and video. Amazing talent today during the event.

Today is a very exciting day! We will be going into a school to teach on the value of human life designed by God. Thanks to my friend Sheila with Touching Lived Together we will be using these 12 week fetus tools to teach on Psalm 139 and God’s plan for us before we were even created in our mother’s womb. Please pray God will use it for his glory and that we speak with clarity.

Hi Everyone, Will you please go to the following link and follow us? https://donorsee.com/profile/23407?follow
We have signed up to use them as a fundraising platform so I'm not always coming to my FB friends.
By following us, there are no fees from DonorSee when you donate and you only pay the transaction fee (like PayPal).
By you following us, we get more social media exposure, access to the DonorSee donor base (once we raise money for our first project) and you can share it with friends so they can be confident in supporting what we are doing in Uganda.
I've been working on this for awhile but with so much life that happens in Uganda it has been hard to get it going. Now we must. The needs are growing and we need to have access to a larger pool of people who's main goal is donating to projects like ours.
Thank you so much!!! Our first project will be out shortly.

survival

I wish it wasn’t always survival among our families. It is our prayer and our mission to try to change that for those God brings into our lives.
I was reminded this week of Isaiah 43:1 “But now, O Jacob, listen to the LORD who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.
2 When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.
3 For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.”
Thank you for your prayers. A friend in Uganda reached out and we sent mama and baby to a children’s hospital. We were told it’s free, but that was not the case. She did get counsel and a plan and will go back next month.
Please pray for Nalongo. She is in the hospital. As a single parent, when a mama gets sick they usually get enough to feel better and then go back home. They fear to leave their children to spend a night in a hospital. We finally convinced her to go, her children are taken care of and we are praying we can find the problem and a solution. Pray with us for wisdom, proper diagnoses and healing.
Pray for the office. When one is gone so much the burden becomes very heavy for the others, especially when cooking is an all day job. we will get someone to help with cooking until Nalongo is better.
Thank you so much. And be encouraged. We live in a broken world. Pain and suffering are daily in our lives, but Jesus won the victory. A day will come when every tear will be wiped away, there will be no more pain and suffering and we will rejoice in the presence of our Savior and God.

Daily needs we take for granted

7/18/2022

In America most of us don't have to worry about our daily needs. We have stocked pantries and many resources if we need food or medical. You go to a place like Uganda and the daily needs often are life and death.
The beginning of this year I was stressing some about how to meet all the needs before us. God spoke so clearly in my heart and said, number 1, "you're not going to meet the needs," and 2) this year I'm going to show you my power." God is the same everywhere but the way he shows up is different in America than in Uganda. So I'm learning to lean on God at an entirely new level as he shows me his working power in new ways.
It has been amazing to watch Him provide. A couple weeks ago I spoke to our ladies group at church. I had a burden on my heart for a family that I had been praying for. While I was sharing God touched someone's heart to meet that need with the exact amount. We were able to bless a familiy with food and medical.
I just had a meeting with the staff in Uganda and there is another very sick mama; has been for well over a month now. Two days ago I received a donation. This morning while talking to staff it was apparent the donation was meant for this mama who's family went without eating over the weekend. So they are going to get food and we will be able to have her stay overnight in the hospital to hopefully find out what the probelm is.
Please pray that all the arrangements will come together to get her daughter to and from school, that she will find peace in going to the hospital knowing her daughter will be cared for. Pray for wisdom for the doctors to find the issue and give proper treatment. Pray for healing.
She is such a hard worker and she's had to move in the past month, had a tree fall on her, having to restart her business in a new location while sick. Just a lot "life." Pray God will comfort her and let her know that he is with her during this difficult time in life.

Clean Water

This is exciting!!! Today we sold our first clean water in Uganda
Why is this exciting? Number 1, because we have clean water thanks to you friends!!!
Number 2, our goal is for the ministry to eventually be self sustaining within Uganda. If we can do it, our ladies can do it.
Number 3, we got to pay the one who brought the customer and the one who helped the customer.
It was only $.40 but in Uganda $.40 can buy three eggs, or 3 chapati, or 60 liters of water. Even some ibuprofen. It can hire transportation and so much more.
Find a penny pick it up… it still has value somewhere in the world!
