We were able to take three families to hospital today thanks to friends who donated for medical needs.
One baby had malaria. She was given four medications. One mama got lab work done to check her thyroid levels. She hasn’t had them checked since December due to lack of funds. Doctor recommended she see an endocrinologist and have surgery. For now she received medication for a month so we can see where she’s at when she is on medication consistently. Another mama was seen for dental issues. She needs a root canal and one tooth extracted. We have funds to extract the tooth and will pray for the rest. We’ve been so blessed by friends who donated for medical needs. We serve ten families, about 60 people total. We do not have a budget for medical so when money is donated we are able to help so much with medical care. God is good. Thank you to everyone who helps these beautiful families.

I realized something today. Sacrificing time and money are easy. Sacrificing the heart takes everything we have, especially when the heart has been hurt. We want to close it off and run away.
How did Jesus do it? Yes, he was God but he was also fully human. Every day he had thousands pulling and tugging on him, loving him, hating him, wanting to get what they could out of him. Yet he never gave up on them. He continually offerred his heart and more love than any of us will ever be able to experience or give. So much that he lost his life for it. Are we willing to lose our life over the pain and hurt of others? I was reading Psalm 37 this morning. I see so many around me today, in person and on FB, who are focused so much on criticizing others instead of focusing on making their own lives better and those around them. We criticize others because we've been hurt. That's not the answer. It's easy to be hurt and mad. It takes strength and courage to continue to sacifice the heart over and over again. It can only be done by continuing to trust the Lord with our pain and allow him to bring beauty out of the ashes. What if we all left the lives of others up to God and focused on making sure we are doing what is right? What if, instead of gossiping and criticizing people, we focus on being the best we can be and helping the one next to us be the best they can be? Many times Jesus said to his disciples, those closest to him, OH, how long do I have to put up with you, or... oh, you of little faith, or...what's it to you what your brother is doing, etc. He was so weary at times, but that never stopped him from giving his all. May we not make Jesus weary but focus on being the best that he created us to be. Let's try to find the good in others and in ourselves and leave the rest to God. Psalm 37:1-6 "Don't worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. For like grass, they soon fade away. Like spring flowers, they soon wither. Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper..." "He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun." "Unless you turn and become (begin to be like) like little children, you will never inherit the kingdom of God." Matthew 18:3 |
