I am so thankful to my assistant Marie for donating her paycheck to help fix Carol’s home. The work has begun. I hope to have photos soon.
Carol has dirt floors and the ants are so bad they crawl in the beds at night and bite the family. Homes of Hope, a ministry of YWAM, will put in concrete floors and make the home safer for the family. This ministry provides free labor for projects. I'm so grateful for this wonderful ministry. What a blessing to this mama.

"Hope also often takes time to mature. On the whole, quick fixes are no match for protracted suffering. Instead, the story of hope is often a long one, with unexpected turns and twists, steps forward and often back too. Time can be both a threat and a friend to hope. Injustice, for example, has to be tediously dismantled, not exploded. This is often infuriating, but it is true.
Hope is more like a treatment plan than an adjustment: in other words, hope takes time to shift toward healing." ~Culture Care This beautiful lady is doing so good. This is Alinda. In February of this year we provided her with charcoal and bananas to jumpstart her business. I'm so excited to announce that since day one Alinda has been able to provide for herself and her family. Each week she has stories and testimonies of all that God is doing. She began with two products. In a week she had added five new products. Now look at her stand. She's bursting at the edges. Not only is she doing well with her stand, she has done so well selling the liquid soap she just learned to make that she will begin making it on her own next week. She's also learning to sew on the sewing machine. Her sewing skills are so near perfect that she is now helping others in the program with their sewing. She is emerging as a strong leader in the group. We hope to meet with her this week and see what her goals are for the future and how we can help her get to the next step. Please pray that God will continue to open doors for her and that He will give her the desires of her heart. I'm so glad to know her. She is an amazing, strong, successful woman. The first charcoal and bananas we gave her. A week later she had sold all the charcoal and bananas, purchased more and added five new products. One week after receiving her products. About a month ago. This week. She's amazing. Alinda on the left with her daughter next to her.
I received a letter yesterday from the teacher of Herbert and Peace, the two students that we are sending to school at ATK International. I hope you'll read his letter below.
For reference while reading the letter, Herbert is 14 and was no longer in school due to lack of funds. He was learning a trade. Now he is in school and hopes to be a doctor. "Hi mum, Praise the Lord! This is teacher Richard of your daughter Peace and your son Harbert from ATK. We thank God for the gift of life that He has blessed us with and the protection against our enemies. Your pupils ( Harbert and Peace) today asked me to send you greetings in Jesus Name and promises to concentrate in studies. Mum, it was today that i came to learn that your son was doing some kind of welding( fabrication)and that his minds had concentrated there, but now he says he wants to study, Mum indeed we thank you for all these changes in the lives of young people, may the Good Lord fulfills the desires of your heart. Peace, can now read and speak good English with friends at school, something she could not do before you admitted her at ATK, Oooh what a change you have put in her life!! Indeed you came to change the community (Matthew 28:19) We pray that the Lord may open His treasure for you mum to change more in Africa. I wish you a blessed day- Mum Dawn. Tr. Richard Such wonderful news. On another note, some of the other students in our program have been sent home due to unpaid school fees. TTWWK has decided to start making monthly payments, along with their mamas, so that their children can stay in school. Do you know that a family will sacrifice food in order to send their children to school? Yes, they will go to school hungry, but at least they will be in school. If you would like to help with the monthly fees, that would be wonderful. For now we will split $50 monthly between our families. Thank you. Hi Everyone, I'm going to throw this out there and see if someone would like to help. This is Carol, one of our widows that we have been working with for the past five months. Carol is a very regal woman. The first time I visited her house I saw the pride she had in taking care of her home. She walks with grace and is beautiful inside and out. One day we spent about two hours sitting under her mango tree. She told us that was the most important thing we could do for her. She's lonely and loves the company. She has five children. School fees are always a challenge for these single mothers and widows. She has a daughter who has finished the equivalent of our high school and wants to go to college. The cost is about $450 every three months. We cannot meet this need. I'm wondering if someone would like to sponsor this young lady through her higher education. It is a two year program. She also has a problem with her home. There are dirt floors in the bedroom and the ants are so bad that they crawl on the children in the night and bite them. We are working with YWAM in the village. They have Homes of Hope where they will help improve homes, and even build homes, for those in need. They work off donations and all the labor is provided for free by YWAM. If you would like to help with this, I will get you in touch with my Family Care Coordinator over there who can get you the information and cost. You can read more on the photos! Thank you so much. We were able to give the girls in the family washable sanitary kits and masks. We helped Carol with her business by providing capital for fish. We waited on the tracks for over two hours for the fish to come. It was a great experience to see how this small business works for her. Carol and our Family Care Coordinator, Tom, walking to the river to wait for fish. We sat under the mango tree for a couple hours one day, visiting and eating sugar cane. It was one of my favorite days.
